About Me

Mechatronics Engineer | Systems Engineer | Solution Architect | Engineering Manager | Leader

I’m a multi-disciplined engineer and leader experienced in Mechatronics and Systems Engineering. My areas of expertise within these disciplines are software and computer systems, state estimation, modelling and simulation, Systems Engineering lifecycle and technical risk management. I am a recognised Simulation Architecture and Modelling Specialist within the Thales Training & Simulation Business Line.

I am a Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia with Areas of Practice recognised in Leadership and Management, Mechatronics Engineering and Systems Engineering. My formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Melbourne and Master of Philosophy in Non-linear State Estimation from the University of Sydney.

I’m passionate about innovation and the exploration of novel technologies and methodologies for solving complex problems; managing the technical risk and increasing the Technology Readiness Level to transition an idea into a tangible, reliable and effective outcome in a project or product. My areas of professional interest are simulation architecture, simulation modelling, cloud native technologies, cyberworthiness, DevSecOps and engineering management.

Aside from my career, I enjoy undertaking ambitious side projects to learn, grow and broaden my experience whilst engaged on an interesting and motivating hands-on application. Theory will only get you so far.

My biggest hobby and non-technical passion is cooking. I enjoy making and eating great food. I take an engineering approach to the culinary art, building an understanding of the science and theory in creating great food with repeatable results. I often engage in complex food preparations and iterate to perfect a dish, leveraging the knowledge shared by leading chefs utilising a food science approach.
